Testimonial

"I have seen the difference in many students both after class presentations by the Heritage Panel and as participants in the program. I am a true believer in what this program can do for our students. Thank you for this program that teachers us to listen and try to understand one another and to celebrate our differences."

Teacher, Michael Krop Senior High School

Student Voices: Training Inclusive Leaders

Student Voices Training for Students Since 1991, a unique youth leadership and prejudice-reduction program, MCCJ's Student Voices Training empowers high school students to explore cultural diversity and develop self-esteem, while fostering values that support the understanding of individual differences.
The program tangibly reduces bullying, intimidation, cliques, taunting and harassment in the classroom. Using a peer education methodology, Heritage Panel Presentations conducted by the students after the Training multiply the number of youth reached through the program.
Student Voices Training for School Staff
As part of our efforts to create a profound and lasting atmosphere of tolerance and respect in our school systems, MCCJ trains counselors and teachers to become Student Voices Trainers.  This training equips school staff with the necessary skills, knowledge and curriculum to deliver Student Voices Trainings to their students, helping to foster safer and more inclusive school communities.
